The problem
A sign-off is only useful if it holds. When an approval can silently flip back — because an automation re-ran or a column got overwritten — it stops being a control gate and becomes a liability. Approvals on monday should be dependable, cover subitems, and leave a record you can trust.
How it works
Request approval
Kick off sign-off on any monday item or subitem — pick the approvers and whether all of them or any one must approve. A clear approval panel appears right on the item.
Approvers decide
Each approver approves or rejects with a comment and an attachment, from the item view or a board-wide queue. Reminders chase the stragglers so nothing stalls.
State holds, on the record
The decision is app-owned state that doesn't get clobbered when a board automation re-runs — and every step is written to an immutable audit log you can export.
Getting started
Prerequisites
- A monday.com account where you have permission to install apps.
- No external service required — Approval Flows runs entirely on monday.
Install
Add Approval Flows to your account from the monday marketplace.
Connect once
Open the app and click Connect to authorize it on your monday account (OAuth). This lets it mirror approval status to your status column and post notifications. Until you connect, the views show a non-blocking “Connect your monday account” banner and board writes are skipped — the app never errors.
Start approving
Add the Approval Flows item view to a board (item panel ‘+’ → Explore more views → Installed apps), or use the board view and item menu. Request approval, choose approvers and the rule (any / all / quorum), and approve or reject from the item.

FAQ
Does it really not revert?
Yes. Approval state is owned by the app, not a board column an automation can overwrite. Approved stays approved until someone with permission changes it — and that change is logged.
Items and subitems both?
Both. Request approvals on items and on their subitems, from the same panel.
What's on the free tier?
25 approvals a month across up to 10 seats, with items, subitems, and the audit log. Pro lifts the cap to unlimited and adds custom notifications, attachments, and audit export.
